Criterion + Pixar collaboration

Wall-E

Criterion announced yesterday that Wall-E (2008) will be entering the collection on the 22th of November. This new edition will come packed with extras, such as a dozen documentaries about the film’s production, deleted scenes, and audio commentaries by director Andrew Staton and lead animator Angus MacLane, among others.

This is very exciting news, as the Criterion Collection has never really placed its focus on the history of animation. The fact that Disney has agreed to this edition is also a very promising sign that other classics might enter the collection in the future – think Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937) or Bambi (1942).

Any Disney movies that you would like to see getting the Criterion treatment?
